Our Commitment
SavPay (9499-8390 Québec Inc.) is committed to making savpay.ca usable for the widest possible audience — including merchants and customers with visual, motor, cognitive, or hearing differences. Accessibility is treated as a design requirement, not a finishing step.
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Our work aligns with the spirit of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), the Accessible Canada Act, and Québec accessibility expectations under the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.
What We Do
- Semantic HTML, descriptive headings, and ARIA labels on interactive elements.
- Color contrast targeted at 4.5:1 minimum for body text, 3:1 for large text.
- Visible keyboard focus states on all links, buttons, and form fields.
- Forms with associated labels, descriptive error messages, and no time-based input traps.
- Alternative text on meaningful images. Decorative images marked as such for screen readers.
- Autoplaying video content is muted, captioned where speech is present, and can be paused.
- Bilingual content (English / French) available on every primary marketing page.
- Dynamic
langattribute applied per-page for correct screen reader language detection.
Known Limitations
We test continuously, but accessibility is never “done”. Areas we are actively improving:
- Some third-party embeds (chat, video, map widgets) inherit accessibility behaviour from their providers.
- Older blog posts and PDF documents may not meet the same standard as the current site templates.
- Mobile screen-reader testing is ongoing.
If you encounter a barrier, please tell us — we treat accessibility reports as priority bugs.
